1. first insert cd no. 1 of linux
2.type linux rescue
3.follow the screen instructions
4.write chroot /mnt/sysimage
4.type df -h
it will show you information like either hda2 or hdb or hdc or sda and so on
5.now type grub-install /dev/hda
you will see no errors reported
6. now type exit
7 again type exit
thats it
